1. Tell us a little about yourself (name, age, where you from, when did you start doing art, anything else you want us to know)

My name is Miranda Adria, I'm 26 years old, and I was born in Miami, FL. I started doing art at a very early age. I first started the same way every kid does: drawing blobs of color and saying it's a dinosaur or a cow. Then, when I was in elementary school, I started drawing my favorite X-Men characters from comic book references.

2. What got you started in art, and why did you join dA?

I didn't become interested in computer art until I was old enough to play on the Atari 2600 with my two older brothers. After that, I knew what I wanted to do with my life. To be quite honest with you, I don't remember why I joined DA. I think it might have been because I wanted a portfolio-type of site where I could post my photomanipulations. Before then, I had always just posted them on my Livejournal or Photobucket.

3. What's your favorite program to use and what's your favorite type of art (digital painting, photomanips, traditional, etc)?

Oh, that's easy. My favorite program is Photoshop, and I absolutely LIVE for photomanipulations. I find it amazing that one can take a few photos, bring them together, and create something completely new. The first photomanipulations I created were done while I was in middle school, and was part of the Computer Graphics magnet program. So, I've been doing photomanips for... almost 10 years? Haha.

4. Who are your best friends here on dA & why?

Oy vey. I hope people don't get mad if I fail to mention them. Well, first and foremost, I have to mention the love of my life, Audi aka :devakirazero:. He only made an account so that he could see my "Mature Content" deviations when we didn't live together. But now that we do, he hasn't used it anymore. LOL. I also have to mention Aisha, aka ~MorbidFantasy13666. Aisha and I have known each other since WAY before I joined DA; for almost 9 years, I think. Even though we've never met in person, she has been one of the most amazing and most faithful online friends I've ever had. Rebecca (~faeriexdecay), Narco (~neurolepsia), and Sindel (~SindelChaos) should also be mentioned. We've known each other for many years as well, through our personal websites.

5. Do you think you have improved in your work since you started?

Most definitely. I can't even look at some of the stuff I did years ago just because it shocks me that I ever thought it was any good. Haha.

6. What do you consider your best deviation and why?

Oh man... *thinks* I would have to say my work "Miranda's Box".



It's not a digital art piece at all, but I think it is one of the best works I've ever done. The main reason why I think so is because I had only made about 2 other boxes before embarking on making a hinged box and 9 small boxes I intended to fit inside perfectly. I had an amazing feeling of accomplishment when I showed it in class and everyone's jaw just dropped.

7. Is there any advice you'd give new members here on dA?

Before ever submitting anything, get to know the site. Visit the FAQ's, read people's journals, view other people's submissions, go into the chatrooms, etc... Learn your way around the site in order to fully appreciate it and engage with it. A lot of times I've seen people just start submitting right away, and then wonder why no one ever comments. It's a community, and you have to treat it as such. Don't just automatically assume people will know you; you have to make yourself known, and then return the favors when people leave you comments and favs.

Not really. But I just want to say a very big "Thank you" for wanting to interview me.

My name is Jean-Manno CHARLES, i'm 18 and live on a small island called Saint-Martin(F.W.I) . . . I started art when I was in school, but didn't put any interest in it.

2. What got you started in art, and why did you join dA?

I started in art, few years after the age of 12 (not school-art, but personnal) after beeing seducced by anime (Neo Ranga, Digimon, Sonic X)

3. What's your favorite program to use and what's your favorite type of art (digital painting, photomanips, traditional, etc)?

So far, my favorite application is PhotoShop, and I always use the latest version of it. I discovered it from mouth to ears, then decided to try it out. But because I didn't know anything, I spent hours watching tutorials on Youtube and other websites. My first arts were Photo manipulation, then I went on scanning traditionnal pictures to end up doing digital art.

4. Who are your best friends here on dA & why?

My best friend is ~shinoka because he gives me hope in whatever I do (even pervy stuff)

I also ~zikos . He's the one you created my DaAccount when there were problems with my computer. He gave me the will to become an Addict in anime because of the website he created long ago (Anime4all.#####.com)

And not to forget ~There-She-Is-Fan and ~NoodlesTheName who support me when I submit Deviations There's just too nice I want to give the dASubs when I get a hold of my CreditCard

5. Do you think you have improved in your work since you started?

I guess I have, otherwise i'll be stuck on Photomanips

6. What do you consider your best deviation and why?

For me, As Far as my Heart can love... my best deviation is [link] because it was my first 3 days of pain on Illustrator (that I tried for the 1st time) And also because it's the only picture that I made that has my Original Character and the Original Character of my girlfriend

7. Is there any advice you'd give new members here on dA?

Well, show me whatever you've got, a picture of a Bra, a picture of a Pantie, I'll +FAV them ALL

Although i can't tell you my name (sorry but i love to be incognitoxD) I can tell you that i am 15 years old, and i live in Austria (which is in Europe and not Australia!)
I started drawing since i was a little girl and my parents saw some talent in me so they send me to an art school.. i was about 8 or something, however, the only thing i remember is, that there where only old ladys and i felt really odd as THE CHILD int he group. But all together they told me how to draw right and i soon improved.,.and i am really thankful for that. Some day i just..didn't want to any more.. i don't know why..but i regret it now.

2. What got you started in art, and why did you join dA?

I am doing art because it really calms me down, i love to put what i imagine onto paper.. and i am interested in how it comes out, which always mades me want to draw something.
I joined DA because my best friend :dev:Eraili: forced me to it (she got to know it from some girls she new over inet) So after a while i decided to try it out once..and now i am addicted

3. What's your favorite program to use and what's your favorite type of art (digital painting, photomanips, traditional, etc)?

Well i think my fave programm is CS4 and also CS3 they are just awesome..i used to try anything which is contained in the word "ART" i tried traditional, digital. photomanips, writing, photography, poems..but now i can say my most favourite kind of art is digital drawing and airbrushing <3

4. Who are your best friends here on dA & why?

My best friend lemme think XD ~katigatorxx because she is a great artist and a really nice girl. ~Cascada-Jewel because she is even younger than me but still she is a really awesome person and i like talking to her, and watch her improving.

5. Do you think you have improved in your work since you started?

Well I think i really did..especially lately my art style changed pretty well..but i think its better than before <3 when i started here i was much worse..just take a look at the first pieces in my gallery *lol*

6. What do you consider your best deviation and why?

Best...i don't really think there is one where i can say- i'd LovE it ..doesn't exist. I am quite okay with my Artwork though..but i don't really like it that much. i am still trying to improve <3

7. Is there any advice you'd give new members here on dA?

Yes:
Do your best, no matter if other deviants offend you or something- don't let it get to close.. draw, draw draw and kick their asses by improving <3
Don't get pushed down by someone you don't even know and just make art!

Yesh.. I luv you all! I wanna thank deviantart.. for giving people all over the world the chance to get some constructive critiques on their Artworks, and other ones opinions. Because I think it's sometimes really interesting what people think of your Artwork, although it sometimes pushes you down.
